About Me
My name is Kyle Arens. In the Spring of 2018, I graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Computer from the University of Cincinnati. Before that, I came from Westerville South High School just Northeast of Columbus, Ohio. Much of my time at UC was spent studying, but I also played on the UC club ice hockey team, served as the vice president of it's executive board, and was one of the lead organizers for RevolutionUC, the premier hackathon at UC. In my free time here, I've enjoyed reading, video games, weight lifting, ice hockey, and spending time with my friends.
My two biggest goals at UC were to succeed in the honors program, making the most out of what the honors program offered to me, and to succeed academically in the field of Computer Science. Throughout my time at UC, I've been fortunate to undertake a plethora of interesting and valuable honors experiences. Although they've been rather scattershot in topic, my two favorites were undoubtedly my seminars that examined educational inequality in various places and forms. I think education is the best gateway to true equality, and to that end, I hope to use what I've learned in these classes to help my community in the future. I also hope to apply what I learned about ethnographic groups in intermediate composition, and different belief systems in Understand Religious Intolerance to create a more cooperative and tolerant atmosphere in the communities around me in the future.
As for academics, I think the culmination of my successes in that area is the fact that I've secured a job right out of school. Starting in July of 2018, I'm going to be working for JP Morgan Chase in their Technology Analyst Program out of Columbus, Ohio. I'm really excited about the opportunities this will present, and I think it will be a fantastic place for me to grow and succeed.
